A white wine from Abruzzo that combines freshness and depth

The Place and the Land: The Lightness That Sustains

Our Pecorino IGT Terre di Chieti is born among the rolling hills of Giuliano Teatino, in the heart of Chieti province, where the vineyards overlook the sea yet breathe mountain air.

The grapes come from vineyard plots with medium-textured, sandy-leaning soils—land that lets excess water drain away, pushing the vines to dig deep in search of nutrients. It’s this very struggle that gives the grapes their bold, concentrated character, with bright aromas and vibrant structure.

Altitude also plays its part—about 200 meters above sea level. The sharp temperature swings between day and night help the berries preserve their acidity and delicate aromas, keeping intact the freshness that lies at the core of Pecorino.

An Ancient Grape, Harvested at the Right Moment

Pecorino is an ancient, vigorous grape variety that ripens early and holds onto its freshness even after the hottest weeks of summer. That’s why we harvest it in the first ten days of September, when it reaches the perfect balance between aromatic intensity and natural acidity.

The harvest is done by hand, with grapes transported directly in tractor bins and processed quickly to preserve their quality. Every step is designed to highlight the purity and precision of the fruit.

In the Cellar: Steel, Patience, and Precision

After gentle pressing, the clear must ferments in stainless steel at a controlled temperature, bringing out the varietal character of the grape.

This is followed by about four months of aging on fine lees—a technique that adds body and smoothness, without dulling the wine’s lively, vibrant nature.

In the Glass: Subtle, Deep, Elegant

In the glass, it shows a straw-yellow color with greenish highlights—crystalline and bright.

On the nose, it is refined and delicate: notes of yellow plum, loquat, and fresh citrus emerge, layered over a gentle herbal nuance reminiscent of Mediterranean scrub.

On the palate, it is dry and fresh, with a pleasant, never overpowering salinity. It has good body, is well-balanced, and finishes with a long, lingering persistence that leaves behind a fruity-floral impression and a subtle hint of almond.

At the Table: Versatility with Personality

Served at 8–10°C, it’s ideal as a refined aperitif—perfect alongside olive all’ascolana or light fried bites. At the table, it truly shines with seafood or vegetable-based first courses, and with delicate fish mains like baked sea bream or citrus-scented sole fillets.

A white wine with a strong sense of identity, telling the story of the most authentic Abruzzo with finesse and precision.
