An Organic Rosé from Abruzzo: Fresh and Authentic

Where it grows: Giuliano Teatino and its rolling hills

Our Cerasuolo d’Abruzzo D.O.C. Organic is born in Giuliano Teatino, in the province of Chieti, at the heart of Abruzzo. Here, the hills benefit from a cool, breezy microclimate, perfect for preserving the brightness and fragrant character typical of this rosé.

To craft a fresh, elegant, and aromatic rosé, we cultivate Montepulciano d’Abruzzo grapes in vineyards with slightly cooler exposure and medium-textured, sandy-leaning soils. This combination ensures excellent drainage and allows the grapes to develop both acidity and delicate aromas.

The yield per hectare is around 100 q.li/Ha, a balance that helps us achieve healthy, concentrated fruit.

To fully capture the freshness of our Cerasuolo d’Abruzzo, we harvest slightly earlier than we would for red wines, when the grapes have reached perfect ripeness but still retain bright acidity and expressive aromatics.

Our Process: Gentle Pressing and White Vinification

The uniqueness of Cerasuolo d’Abruzzo lies in the white vinification of Montepulciano d’Abruzzo grapes. After a gentle pressing, the skins are immediately separated from the must. This quick step prevents the extraction of too much color, giving the wine its typical pale pink hue bright, delicate, and crystal-clear.

Fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks to preserve the fresh, fragrant aromas of the grape.

The wine then rests for about two months on fine lees, a technique that adds softness and complexity without weighing it down.

In the Glass: Color, Aromas, Taste

Cerasuolo d’Abruzzo shows a delicate pale pink color, clear and with good consistency.

On the nose, it reveals intense yet refined aromas of cherry, strawberry, and raspberry, with subtle floral hints that add elegance.

On the palate, it is fresh, savory, well-balanced, and with good structure. The finish is long, with a pleasant return of fruity notes and a light touch of wild berries that make each sip smooth, enjoyable, and inviting.
